The John Briggs Centre
The John Briggs Centre is a purpose built building with sleeping accommodation for a maximum of 38 people. It is possible to arrange for other people to camp near to the Centre. Camp fees are payable for numbers above 38. Outside the Centre there is a flag green area with flagpole, and a grassed activity area that is for exclusive use of the users of the Centre. Please note that camping, pitching of tents or other constructions are not permitted on the flag green or activity area.
This building has sleeping accommodation for 38 people. There are six carpeted dormitories. Four have 8 bunks in each, one has 4 bunks and one has 2 bunks. All the bunks are complete with mattresses and pillows. Personal bedding is not supplied. All users must bring their own blankets, sheets, pillowcases and/or sleeping bags - and use them!
Activity Room / Dining Area
This room is 22ft by 26ft and is equipped with chairs and tables. A large Television and DVD player are provided, as well as a wall mounted whiteboard.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with sinks, a commercial oven with a six-burner hob, microwave oven, hot cupboard, toaster, freezer, refrigerator, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery for 50 people. There is a serving hatch between the Kitchen and Dining Area. Tea towels and cleaning fluids are not provided.
Ladies, gents & disabled toilets and washrooms with hot water. A shower is provided in the disabled washroom.
There is ample hot and cold water, electricity and central heating. A pay phone is available in the building. Lighting is provided around the outside of the Centre.
Health and Safety
There are night-lights, emergency lighting, a fire alarm, a smoke detector system and emergency exits. An electronic flycatcher and hand dryer are provided in the kitchen.

The Annexe is adjacent to the John Briggs Centre and can be booked as an addition and is suitable as a classroom, field study centre, or for additional indoor activities. (See separate page for details.)
