Air Rifle Range

air pistol, shoot, shooting sports

Air Rifle Range

Try your aim in our dedicated shooting range.

Rifle Shooting is a great opportunity to introduce young people to the sport of shooting in a safe and controlled environment. For many young people, this will be their first encounter with fire arms outside of video games, and, as such, a great chance to develop a healthy respect for them.

As with any shooting sport, you’ll need to take a deep breath, be in control, and work on your coordination if you want to get your shots on target. You’ll probably get a few goes, so you’ll need to focus when you’re up and wait for others in between.

Climbing Tower

Climbing Tower

Challenge yourselves to climb Andrew’s Tower at Bramhope, built using donations to commemorate Andrew Miles, a member of Bramhope Scout Troop who tragically died in 1986. The triangular tower is 40ft high, one wall is clear for abseiling and another wall has numerous climbing holds. Andrew’s Tower is suitable for those aged 6 and over.

Please note that appropriate NGB award or Scout permit is needed by the instructor, we also require instructors to have been through setup training specific to Andrew’s tower. If you require an Instructor then please make this known at the time of booking. Many of our Instructors are volunteers, so the more notice the better. Please ensure that one of your Leadership team are present for the duration of the session. Where participants are very young or may need extra help, to get the most out of the session, it is recommended that additional Leaders attend the session to assist the Instructor.

Area of Reflection

Area of Reflection

Scouts is open to everyone; we don’t identify exclusively with one faith and at Bramhope our Area of Reflection is a space where adults and young people can go to ponder, reflect and pray. Our lives are constantly busy and on-the-go, with lots of noise and we rarely stop and pause. Our reflection area gives visitors this moment.

In Scouts we explore different faith, beliefs and attitudes as a core element of our programme, and it's one of our fundamental values. The spiritual development of all members is an important element of Scouts. It's important to enable young people to spend some time taking stock of themselves and the world around them.

In the busy world in which we live we sometimes overlook the benefits of quietness. There's great power in peace, quiet and contemplation, especially when surrounded by nature.

Field 1

Field 1 is situated to the far east of the site. It is a large slightly sloping field, with easily enough space for a large group camp, still leaving space for activities/games. A nice quiet corner of the site with farmland to 2 sides and lovely views across to Bramhope village. It has easy access to water at a shared point with Field 2.

Field 2a

Field 2a is great for small group or DofE camping, a peaceful area of the site away from the hustle and bustle of the main areas

Field 2

Field 2 is adjacent to the John Briggs centre car park for easy drop off/pick up access. The main field area is relatively flat, with a smaller Field 2b at the southern end, this can be used separately or in conjunction with the main field. Although closer to the road, there is very little traffic, at the top of the field is a stables and again lovely views towards Cookridge.

Activity Field

Field 3

Field 3 is situated at the end of the driveway, close to all amenities, ideal for use as a camping field for those staying in The Lodge

Field 5

Field 5 is at the top of the driveway, behind the John Briggs centre so a great space to camp on if your group is also using the centre. A nice flat camping field with easy access to the main site.

Field 4

Field 4 is a great space for a group camp, situated in the middle of the site, with easy access to water, a flat field which would still leave enough space for mess tent & outdoor games space.

Field 8

Field 8 is another of our smaller pitches. It is ideal for a small section or explorer camp, situated right next to the campfire & the activity field.

Field 6

Field 6 is ideal for explorer group camps and will soon have it’s own outdoor kitchen area so no need to bring along the mess tents and tables we have provided them for you. (or will have soon !!)

Field 93

Field 93 is the biggest space we have at Bramhope, it covers all the northern end of the site stretching from the site centre all the way to Old Lane on the boundary of the site. This field is not always in use as it does tend to get a bit soggy in the autumn/winter and also gets used as our archery field.
